There oughta be a law...

We ran into a line of FOUR of these extra wide loads... back to back!  It's REALLY tough to pass these things when you are turning and turning thru a small town!

But we did it one bike at a time... sometimes getting around just one "house" at a time...

Here's Dell and Karin catching up to my position:

Then we hit construction!  Again and again.  This one was huge with more earth movers and graders than  I have ever seen in my life in one spot.  This was a dusty/dirty mess to ride thru on a bike.  Here's looking forward:

And Bonnie waiting to shove off:

There were a few more sites that had warning signs like this one:  "Motorcyclists Should Condsider Alternate Routes" - boy howdy...

  1. This was all between Townsend and Lavina Montana. An 80ish mile section took us over 3 hours to complete. The houses were a bugger to pass however it was kind of awesome to see as well. As they climbed the hill outside of town, they got closer together making it difficult to see around for passing opportunity. Plus the fact they made a motorcycle feel like a mouse among elephants.

The construction wasn't too awfully bad until they decided to water just before we went across. Turned the dust into a nice gushy mud in places. Not my favorite part of the trip.

We did cross a pass about 15 miles west of White Sulfur Springs. Coldest part of the day (53) but it was beautiful and didn't last too long.
