Officially (according to me) the opening date for riding is 25 days away but if the temps keep going into the 50's I might take the bike off the lift early and go out for a spin. Have to test that radio and see if I can get the MP3 player to work on it. It's in the 50's today and if we can get a good rain soon all the salt will be washed off the roads which will allow the potholes to appear right on time.
Going to be some tough riding for a while until they find some money to start filling in the craters. Ought to give me good practice on my evasive maneuvers and emergency stopping.
We're down to 148 days until I depart to Sturgis. I'm still fooling with the route I want to take and how much scenery I want to take in along the way. I plan to avoid the Chicago area and take a more southern route on way through Iowa and on to Nebraska. Been looking for some good campsites that are quiet and peaceful. Gives me something to do during all this winter weather.
